Almost A New Year

Hello Everyone, Well here we are at the end almost of another year.  2013 has been Okay for us but a few bumps in the road.  DH has been sick off and on, mainly kidney stones......But he now has a new doctor and so far he seems to be better.

We spent our day at Turkey Run State Park Inn for our Christmas meal.  I just have the one picture of the Inn, we were going to get some others of the area but it was just too darn cold.  After we left there we went and spent the late afternoon with our neighbors.  They gave us some really nice gifts, Ann made some granola, blue cheese salad dressing  (you can't beat homemade on that one) also homemade fruitcake which is really good too.  The bad part is I HAVE to be the one that eats this because DH won't eat this sort of thing.  But I will make the sacrifice ....LOL

Stitching wise I have gotten quite a bit done on my Prairie Schooler Christmas Village, at least I think I have??  I am putting it aside right now and going to go back and finish a sampler that was a freebie on a French site.  No picture as of yet of it I am waiting on the floss to start a picture of paint horses for our groomer.  I have plans to give it to her for next Christmas.  We will see........

Winter Is Here, Holly's First Year And Some Stitching Too

Wow time has really flown!  I can't believe that its been so long since I last posted.  I have been stitching on Prairie Schooler Christmas Village, I was having problems and had ripped out little trees it seemed like a million trees, just to find out the border was what was off!!  Ripped trees for no reason other than one that the border had the placement for the tree in the wrong place......... As you can see I have made a little progress.

Finished an ornament too, now all I have to do is really finish it! LOL  Not my favorite part:)) The ornament was stitched on a Silkweaver fabric that my friend Ruthie sent to me.  It didn't say what the color was but it's 28 count and the picture isn't doing it justice.

Yesterday was Holly's first year with us, it has been a fun year she it a great little cat.  She loves to be held but like all cats wants her alone time too.  If you stop and think about it cats are sort of like people we need to have quiet times too. I took this picture of her this morning and had a hard time getting her to look at me.  Birds on the feeder are a lot more interesting aren't they? LOL

Fall Is Really Here Plus A Stitching Update

Hello Everyone,

Well today our temperatures are finally in the 30's at night and 40's Fahrenheit during the day, we have had to have a fire in the mornings.  Robert cut wood on Monday, Columbus Day for our winter fires, I hate the thought of it.  We heat with wood and it certainly is warm but the older we get the harder it is to get the wood in.  We have been having fun with our new little dog Daughty, yes that is the way her name is spelled but we call her Dot.  She is getting along pretty well with our cat Holly and Tip our other cat is tolerating her he just gives us a look like well if I must.....

I made a pumpkin biscornu for a Holloween exchange, it was a fun stitch and my exchange partner, Jennifer says she really likes it:) This chart came from http://theflossbox.com

Leave it to me I forgot to add in a picture of what I got in the exchange.  This was stitched by my friend Vicky and I just love it!

This is what I stitched for my Blogaverseary winner Minnie.  It's
from Prairie Schooler.  I had to make some changes because the original wouldn't fit the bookmark.

Finally Did It and Other Stuff!!

We finally decided to adopt a new dog it has been two years since Boots died so it will be hard at first to get into dog mode again she is a 1 year old black and tan Cocker Spaniel.  The family that has her now is moving and can't take her with them.  We pick her up on Saturday, her name is Dotty and she is full of Vim and Vigor that is for sure.  She may run these two old people into the ground!! LOL  The only problem we may have is will she get along with our cats.  Holly has been around a dog so I don't think she will have a problem with Dotty other than Dotty wanting to play all the time.  Tip is outside by choice and he can vaporize rather quickly.  Anyway here is her picture

Spent yesterday with my BFF at Rockville, Indiana.  We went to an Amish Bulk Food Store bad for me because I had to have a loaf of banana bread, at least it's was a small loaf:) I also purchased what is called Butter Cheese, this cheese is to die for and some German Bologna   We then went to an Amish Variety Store and they have loads of stuff, from pots and pans, dishes, just a little bit of everything. I would have loved to have a lot of things there but had to hold off for right now.  We did get to see the Amish in the field taking corn stalks for silage.  It was really interesting because they were using 2 teams of mules and had to keep them right along side of each other.  Wish I had some pictures of this but couldn't sneak any in that they wouldn't have known that I was taking their picture.

Stitching wise I am working on an exchange piece so can't show it right now, last night Mr Frog visited and slowed the progress down:(

In case you didn't see my updated post about my giveaway, the winners are....

Phyllis $20.00 123stitch gift certificate

Swat Update & Other Little Things

Hello Everyone,

Well here is a picture of my progress for this months SWAT.  I would have been further along if someone hadn't decided that I was in desperate need of her help!!  Miss Holly thinks she needs to play with floss bobbins and full skeins of floss she will be a year old soon and has never done this before.  I think that maybe aliens have taken over her brain?  the picture isn't that great because I took it with my cell phone but you can get the idea of my progress.

I have decided I will lay it aside for a week and start my Blackbird Designs, Sunflower House. the floss and fabric are for Sunflower House the fabric is an R&R Reproductions Friendship Blue that i was lucky enough to get from Ebay as its a discontined color.  My friend Ruthie purchased it for me fro my birthday

First is my progress picture of Paula Vaughn then my next project Sunflower House and last but not least a picture of my stitching helper.
