It's Finished!

I just finished stitching This "Something In Common" called Cabin Fever. I really like the way it came out. Almost hate to give it up, but it has to go to it's new home:) Now I'm going to stitch a LK Flip-it it's an SAL with one of my groups. Decided I needed to do another small piece so I feel like I'm accomplishing something.

Also here is an update on Holly the kitty. She has had lots of health issues but is doing well now and she plays like crazy. The bad part is she likes to play at 2AM!! LOL She did have a surprise last night we had 3 raccoon's fighting on our front porch and one of them came to the window and was looking in at Holly. You could tell by the way she sat there she didn't know what to do. Wish I had a picture of it because it was cute. Anyway here is a picture of Holly from this afternoon.

Hello Everyone, I know I have been away from my blog for awhile, both DH and I have had the flu....But finally getting over it. Anyway here is the Biscornu that I stitched for a friend, I found the buttons at Hobby Lobby, the chart was an online freebie,which can be found here. I did change it a little so my buttons would fit.

Really nothing too exciting except for yesterday got a Christmas Gift!! Robert called me from work and says I've got something that you have been wanting and he says guess!! I said a Black Cocker Spaniel?? LOL Nope but you have been wanting a cat, so now I have a kitten named "Holly" since she got here for Christmas. this picture for her isn't too good since she has her eyes closed. S

he does have a bit of infection in her eyes but she is going to the vet Monday evening to get eveything taken care of. Also just a small stitching update, making this Prairie Schooler into a card for our neighbors he is a retired minister.

I have been having computer problems again........seems like that is endless right now. Anyway I finally finished my Little House Needleworks Sampler
I am so pleased with it that I hate to give it up. It belongs to my BFF I may have to stitch this one again for myself at some point.

I have now started on a Dimensions kit called Listen With Your Heart, not my favorite, kits that is

and also a Lanarte kit of a Black Bear With her Cubs which is also a kit but it's for DH a Christmas present

so have to work on it during the week when he is at work and switch back to the other one when he is home.

Our 30th Anniversary Stitching Too

Well as of Monday Robert and I will be married for 30 years, We dated for 6 years before we got married for one we wanted to pay cash for as much stuff as we could. The first picture is of a card my friend Lynn sent us she does all sorts of handmade greeting cards and I can hardly wait for a holiday of some sort to get here so I can see what pretty card she makes for me or Robert. Here's a link to her blog so you can see her wonderful cards BTW she is also a stitcher. The second picture is of us of course on our wedding day. The music I have added is what was played at our wedding and also added one "America" song because on our first date we went to an America Concert, by the way it was a blind date:) Robert was also neighbor that has just moved in across the highway from us, saw him at the mailbox with 2 German Shepards and figured if he had dogs he had to be alright:)) His BF worked with my dad and he told my dad about Robert and that was the start of it all. Still just as happy as we were that day. The the last is the progress I have made on my Little House Needleworks "Spring Beauty" I would be a little further along today with the top section done but decided to make beef stew last night and in doing so tried to add a little of me with it. Almost cut off the tip of my finger. I managed to get the bleeding stopped and bandaged it all by myself, Robert was out mowing and even if I did call his cell phone he would have never heard it.

This Summer has not been very good for us, first DH was passing kidney stones then we lost our Cocker Spaniel Molly. So that is the reasons for no new post for such a long time. I have managed to get a little stitching done. My WIP is Spring Beauty By Little House Needleworks and I finally got my Bless Your Heart, the chart was given to me by the designer Sandra Longan Miller of Log Cabin Needleworks pillow back that I had made up so here are the pictures of my stitching plus a picture of Mollybell. Thanks everyone for comments left really appreciate it.

I know it's been a long time coming but things here have been in an uproar. DH was doing well at first after his lithotrypsy but now it seems he does OK fur a few days then he's back at the starting gate so to say. He gets up goes to work and that is about it. anyway I have been getting some stitching done this is an old Cricket Collection from the 1980's and I finally decided I've had this long enough and it's time to stitch it. Love to see all of your comments. I'm going to do a giveaway of the chart once I'm done stitching. Finally here is my second square of Prairie Schooler done! Isn't if funny how a few stitches make such a pretty piece. I wasn't sure about this one when I first started it but now I can say I really like it. I have now started on a Dimensions Kit for a friend of mine and I really don't like the floss that comes with them so I'm waiting on my floss. I ordered it this morning from my LNS and hopefully it will be here by Wednesday. I guess I should say that my LNS is 50 miles from me LOL so it's cheaper to get it in the mail. The shop that I order from is great. They send things right away and all they charge is the cost of the postage. Hello Everyone, Well my stitching is going slowly but surely on my Prairie Schooler More Friends square it's an out of print chart......Wish they would do some reprints on some of these older charts, for one they're great charts and it would be nice for new stitchers to be able to get to stitch them too.

Way Too Long Since My Last Post

Wow my last post was wayyyyyyy back in February, I have been stitching slowly but surely on this sampler and it's finally done. We have been dealing with kidney stones again poor DH has loads of them he is supposed to have lithotrypsy surgery again in May. I think now we're up to his 7th one since 2000,he always produces lots of stones, him just have one nooooooooo we have at least 13 in his right kidney and not sure how many in the left. Well guess I'll just make sure I take some stitching with me for the day of his surgery:) I have now started stitching another Prairie Schooler chart from the Friends leaflet. Nothing really to show right now just they and a beak of a bird:) Well hopefully it won't be so long between posts the next time.

Hoping For Spring!

I guess you shouldn't wish your life away but I am so ready for Spring and the flowers, birds, bees and being able to get on our side by side ATV and get out in the woods. It has been extremely cold here and lots of snow and ice. We're supposed to have some relief from the cold starting tomorrow. I have just finished a Prairie Schooler Friendship Sampler. It was lots of fun to stitch and I have just started on My 4 Boys "Home Sweet Sampler". I have had to frog a little already but I have that all restitched. Hopefully I will have a picture of it soon too.

Christmas Traditions

Hello Everyone, Well Christmas is almost here and will be over just as fast as it is upon us. I have been thinking about family Christmas traditions. when I was little we always opened our Christmas gifts on Christmas Eve because Christmas morning we always went to my Grandma Garry's. she was bed ridden but still a happy very happy to see us on Christmas morning. One of the neighbors always dressed as Santa and came by her home too, really a nice memory. also my mother always sang Silent Night in German. Her family lived in Southern Indiana and they always spoke German at home when she was a child. When we would get together her brothers and sisters still spoke a little German. what was really something to hear was when they couldn't think of the words they wanted in English they would switch mid sentence to German. there was one story of a cousin of mine from my dads side of the family when she was a little girl they took her for a visit and they did thins, from what I heard she ran out of the house, because she was so frightened. It's funny now but I guess not to her. I would love to hear from all of you some of your Christmas Memories.

Hello Everyone, Finally have my Prairie Schooler Santa finished. It was supposed to be a Christmas card but when DH saw it he says MINE!!! LOL he says he wants me to frame it. So I guess when we go out tomorrow we'll be looking for a frame:) I think the reason he really likes it is he belongs to Sons Of The American Revolution, his 4th great grandfather fought at the battle of Yorktown and this Santa just fits the bill so to say:)

Hello Everyone, doing happy dance, I finally finished my first Biscornu. Ended up I really enjoyed doing it. I was moving really slowly on the stitching because I was worried that I wasn't going to be able to get it put together and it ended up being quite easy. I have the 2 pictures because I used 2 colors on the leaves. the floss is DMC Variations. So here is my finished piece and I'm ready to stitch another one:)

Hello Everyone, I know it's been eons since I have done an update, just life getting in the way and really not much to share. I do have one finish, it's for an exchange but I don't think the lady will see it that it went to so I'm showing my Prairie Schooler Owl, I made it into a coaster. The chart is from the Prairie Schooler Designer series. I am also slowly but surely making my first Biscornu and it is going slowly.........I hope to have it done and on it's way to it's new owner soon, it's an exchange also.

Hope all of my followers are doing well and also I am going to try and read some blogs too, I'm way behind in that also. Lately it seems that the Hurrier I Go The Behinder I Get these days:)

We have been having beautiful weather, really a little too warm for this time of year in Indiana and we have had such dry weather we could really use some rain.

Coca Cola Santa

Hello Everyone, Decided it was time for another update, Santa has been going quite well until a little frog came along.......Isn't amazing what can happen with just one little misplaced stitch, As you can see quite a bit, I replaced everything that I ripped out and now I have laid Santa aside for a little while and I'm working on some Prairie Schooler ornaments from book #24 Prairie Birds. For one the stitching is more portable and I plan on taking it with me as DH is finally going to a specialist tomorrow for his kidney stones. I'm sure they'll be doing some tests so that means lots of sitting around.. The kidney stone thing is old hat with him as we have been doing this for years, I'm just hoping that this will be just ones of those where the stones just have to pass.

Finally Doing An Update

Hello Everyone, Finally an update, Things have been rather busy here my DH has passed 4 kidney stones within the past 2 weeks and just before that I had surgery. So that is part of the reason I have been quiet. It has been really super hot here too highs in the 90'sF and even one day 100. The heat isn't so bad but the humility has been awful, like walking into a blast furnace even at night. I have been busy stitching I've stitched 4 small samplers by Homespun Elegance. Really fast to stitch the all have charms on them but I still need one for the sampler with the flag. I have now gone back to my Coca Cola Santa at least until I decide that I am going onto something else. The Santa is one stitch of this and 3 stitches of that! Anyway here are pictures of the samplers and Santa.

Well here it is Sunflower House is finally done! I changed it, I didn't like the way the blanket stitch looked around the edge and it was also supposed to have blanket stitch and lazy daisy stitch in the flowers above the house. anyway here is the finished project. Now I have to decide what's next on my stitching agenda. It has been too hot and humid here to do much of anything else. Today is cooler than it has been in days, only 86F or 30C Over the weekend and the rest of next week it will be 92F or 30C I hope you like Sunflower House I will look forward to your comments.

Back Into Stitching Again

Well it has been a long time since I have updated my blog. For some reason I haven't been doing much stitching. I seem to have been having a hard time getting myself to pick up my needle but once I do I seem to get a lot done. I did most of the stitching on Sunflower House the past couple of weeks. I would really like to get it done so I could move onto other things.

Here it is finally an update on Sunflower House. It is going slow but sure. I haven't been feeling my best and neither has DH. Seems like this Spring has not been kind to us. But things have to improve don't they? Armed Forces Day

Hello Everyone no stitching update right now maybe later today. Who knows?? I have not been feeling my best but I am going to try and do some stitching this afternoon. I have to have surgery this coming Friday it is out patient so no big deal really.

Anyway today us Armed Forces Day and my DH is retired Air Force so decided it would be a good time to try and honor our troops even if only in a small way. Hope you enjoy my background and the music.

An Update Finally

Here it is over a month since my last update, I was hoping to have more done on my current stitching project but just seem to be having a go slow:0) For one I have been reading a lot, I am reading the Cape Light series by Thomas Kinkade. Back to my stitching. I'm working on a Victoria Sampler chart and really enjoying it. It is a design by Cathy Jean called "Sunflower House". It has some specialty stitches but nothing too hard, except for I'm not sure about the center of the Sunflowers around the house, they are blanket stitch done in a sort of circle and I have never tired that before. The floss used is a combination of Gentle Art Sampler Threads, Weeks Dye Works, Dinky Dyes Silks, And Vikki Clayton Silks. The silks are a lot of fun but you most certainly have to make sure your hands are smooth because the silk will catch on the lest little thing. Good reason not to wash dishes by hand! LOL

I can't believe that it has been so long since I have done an update. Here it is the last week in February, I wonder where this month has gone?? I finally finished my sampler but it took me awhile and why I don't know, just not in the mood to stitch I guess?? I pressed it this morning but I know it doesn't look like it, but I don't know what to do about it because it is hand dyed floss so I am afraid to use steam on it. My luck it would bleed.

Exchange Stitching And Coca Cola Santa Update

Well I finally finished my exchange stitching, I am really pleased with the results on these. I can post these pictures because these ladies have not got a clue that they're getting anything:0) Also I did get to stitch a little on my Coca Cola Santa too. So here are all the pictures of my latest:0) I am also getting ready to do a SAL Better Homes & Gardens Stockings. Hello Everyone, Getting closer to Christmas now and of course I still have a lot of things I would like to do but know that it will never get done. It sort of reminds me of the movie " Christmas Vacation" And the Dad is trying to make everything perfect and his Wife tells him, you always build up in your mind what the perfect Christmas is and of course no one can get there. So might just as well relax and go with the flow.

The ornament that I did was for one of my yahoo group exchanges it's in its new home so can now post a picture of it. The big thing is I finished it myself and that is a feat for me to do. I am just not to good at it. Could be like I said setting up high expectations again?? LOL I will say I was pleased with the way it came out though. It is a Prairie Schooler ornament from the Santa & Snowman leaflet.

Hello Everyone, I know that it has been a long time since I have updated my blog. I have been busy stitching my little heart out and also I have been having computer problems. I have so many pictures that my hardrive is almost full!! I was going to move what I have onto a DVD but.............Easier said than done, HP computers have compatibility issues with certain DVD brands other than their own and Sony:0) Makes me mad but what can I do about it??

Well back to the stitching I have finished 2 small pieces but those 2 are for exchanges so as soon as they're in their new home I will post pictures of them. I have finished my Nephews Wedding Sampler. It's a Cedar Hill chart called "Faith, Hope, Love and The Greatest Of These Is Love". I added their names and date of the wedding to it. I am going to see if I can find some charms to put on either side of the names.

Coca Cola Santa

Hello Everyone well I am finally doing an update of my Santa. I scanned it because I had to rob the batteries from my camera for my mouse. The bad part is this scanner is new to me and I am having problems getting quality scans from it. I will get batteries next week so I can take pictures again. I will say that I was thinking it wasn't looking like much stitching wise until I saw the picture and now I can see the shape of Santa's hat. It took me long enough to get this far that is for sure.

Also I have been having blog problems and can't use the really nice backgrounds. Hope I can get this resolved soon.

Stitching Hell

Hello Everyone I have been in stitching hell the last few days. I had to rip the sky out on Hair Raising Halloween, I kept thinking it didn't look right. I ripped form 10pm Sunday evening until 2am Monday. I couldn't sleep so I ripped..... Then on Monday I thought well I'll put in the right color in the sky now. Well guess what??? I didn't have the right floss Gurrrrrrrrr So I thought well then until I get my floss I'll go back to the Coco-Cola Santa because I had gotten the floss that I ordered....... I forgot one skein of floss........ and it was the area that I was starting in and I really had to have it to get started. So now I have decided until I get my floss I will start "Forrest Snowfall" by County Cottage Needlework's. At least that one I know I have all the floss, anyway lets hope so. I'm planning on taking my Prairie Schooler Windows Sampler to get it framed today. I just hope I can find what I want for it.

I finally finished my latest stitching project, Prairie Schooler November Window Sampler. It took me a little longer than I thought it would, but then I have been doing all sorts of other things. I had to make 2 dozen corn muffins for DH to take to work because they were having ham and beans and I was volunteered for the muffins:0) also this past week I have made chocolate chip cookies and peanut butter cookies plus blueberry muffins and bread. So lots of baking in between stitches:0) Sorry about the picture with the q-snap but didn't have a better way to do it. I tried scanning the picture but it was blurred so decided to take my non photo taking skills and see what I could come up with. It does look a little better.

My next project is going to be a Coca Cola Santa by Pegasus. DH picked this chart out 2 years ago, so I guess it's time to get going on it, never know maybe I can have it finished by Christmas.

I have finally taken a picture of this finish. I have to give it to my friend Karen tomorrow. I stitch for her all the time. I may have to do this one a second time for myself:0) If you click on the image you can really get a better look at it. As you can see I don't use my camera much. I mostly scan my projects but this one was too large for the scanner.

Here is my second update for my November sampler. Today it's pouring rain and cold too, so more like November than October. Don't the little trees across the top remind you of a cold November day? I really like the way this is coming out. At first I thought I may have chosen to stitch it on the wrong color of fabic but now as I stitch I think it really brings out the colors of the floss.

First Stitches For October

Hello Everyone, Well here it is October, it was cool enough that all day this past Sunday we had to have a fire. We heat with wood, really smelled good too and very nice and comfy sitting and stitching by the fire.

I really should be doing a little more cleaning as we're having company this next weekend. But I did get the bathroom done, at least that. Here are my first few stitches for October. It's another Prairie Schooler from book #149 November this is the smaller one of the 2 samplers, called Windows, I'm stitching it on 28 count Mushroom Lugana, I plan to do both samplers, but decided to start small. Glad I did because I took that little tree out in the left hand corner numerous times. The bad part being I kept making the same mistake. But fixed it this morning at 3am.

Here it is September 30 Birdsong is done!! It should have been finished on This past Sunday, but a frog came for a visit although he was an uninvited guest. Now I have to decide what to work on next. This is the part I hate because I have so much I want to do. I have ordered a chart today and will post pictures of it when I get it. I would really like to start it. But then I will have to wait and I don't know if i can stand the wait :0)

Well here I am again today, September 25, 2009 with another update. Yesterday was pouring rain here and what I had to do was outside. Soooooooooo I had an excuse to stitch ALL DAY LONG!!! and that is exactly what I did!! Today is supposed to be another rainy day, but I don't think I can manage another whole day of stitching. LOL here is my latest scan.

Hey well it has taken me a year to add something but I am going to try and do better. I have been busy stitching. My latest is a Prairie Schooler called Birdsong 1 I am going slowly the last couple of days so I haven't done a new scan yet. Maybe tomorrow, it's raining here so not much to do other than clean or stitch. I will clean my kitchen counter off today and then it will be on to stitching! YES
